Description | Bill of indictment of William Bradley late of the parish of Whitby labourer for obtaining by deception three eggs, four pounds of bread, three ounces of butter, and one pint of coffee, the property of Thomas Ross; and one silver coin called a shilling, also the property of Thomas Ross. Bradley had falsely pretended to Jane Ross wife of Thomas Ross that he was from the ship "James" which was in Whitby harbour laden with ironstone Offence committed at the parish of Whitby on 25 April 1850
