We collect, preserve and make accessible historic records of significance for the study of North Yorkshire and hold over 2000 collections that date from the 12^th to the 21^st century. Our collections contain a wealth of documents from sources including national and local governments, churches and chapels, solicitors, landed estates, schools, businesses, private individuals, and many more.

This catalogue contains descriptions of these documents and allows you to search for and find out about items that you can view in our searchroom. The catalogue includes collection level descriptions of the majority of our holdings, and in some cases includes item level descriptions. New catalogue entries are continually being added to the online catalogue. Not all collections have been added to the online catalogue to item level yet, so if you can’t find what you are looking for then please contact us.
