Recognizance dated 27 August 1868 made by Michael Horner gentleman and William Heath hairdresser, both of the township of Northallerton, for the appearance of Thomas Collitt of the township of Northallerton beer house keeper at the next Quarter Sessions to appeal against the refusal of the Justices acting for the Petty Sessional division of Allertonshire to grant him a licence to sell excisable liquors
Notice dated 28 August 1868 given by Thomas Collitt retailer of beer living in the township of Northallerton to the Justices who acted for the Petty Sessional division of Allertonshire at the General Annual Licensing Meeting held at Northallerton on 26 August 1868. Collitt intends to appeal at the next Quarter Sessions against the refusal by the Justices to grant him a licence to sell excisable liquors to be drunk on his premises at his dwelling house on the west side of the town street of Northallerton. The house is an old established inn and has been occupied as such for over 60 years. It offers suitable accommodation at horse fairs and markets, and has stabling for 26 horses, coach houses, loose boxes and other conveniences. The house is in the front street in the Market Place, and because of its proximity to the Sessions House is very convenient for those attending the Sessions |
