Description | Bill of indictment of Henry Francis Johnson for obtaining food value 2s 6d from Mary Hawman by falsely pretending to her that he was employed by one Poole and was an agent of the Panorama of one Poole and had been sent to engage lodgings for others employed by Poole. Also obtaining 1s 3d from Hawman by falsely pretending to her that he was authorised to take lodgings for two persons also employed by Poole, and that there was a parcel of bills relating to Poole's Panorama at the railway station at Northallerton, and that money was needed to get the bills

With certificate of conviction before two Justices at Huddersfield in the West Riding on 12 November 1879 of Henry Francis Johnson aged 14 years for stealing two tame pigeons value 2s, the property of Fred Brooke, at the parish of Huddersfield on 10 November 1879. Johnson was sentenced to hard labour at the House of Correction in Wakefield in the West Riding for three calendar months and then to be sent to a reformatory school for three years from the 12 February 1880.
