With certificate of conviction at the Petty Sessional court of Langbaurgh East held at Guisborough on 5 October 1886 of Charles Bell of Redcar labourer for stealing one piece of stair carpet and a bundle of illustrated papers, the property of Robert Abbott Gowland on 20 September 1886 at Redcar. Bell was sentenced to hard labour at the prison at Northallerton for 21 days. Certificate dated 1 October 1889
