Description | Bill of indictment of Daniel Boldero gentleman, William Watson yeoman and Richard Hodgson yeoman, all late of Cornbrough, Math. Bowes late of Whenby yeoman, William Bolton yeoman and James Robinson yeoman, both late of the parish of Whenby, Christopher Goothricke late of Farlington yeoman and Thomas Knowles late of Cornbrough yeoman for refusing to pay the assessments demanded by John Stonehouse and Edmund Monday collectors on or about 20 April 1698. They had been assessed at various sums, viz:- 2d (Boldero), 2s 6d (Watson), 3s 2d (Hodgson), 5d (Bowes), 1s 4d (Bolton), 6d (Robinson) 1s 11d (Goothricke), 2s 7d (Knowles) - for their lands at Cornbrough
The assessment had been made on lands at Cornbrough on 1 March 1697/8 for the repair of public bridges
