DescriptionBill of indictment of James Harland late of Caulviss/Cauviss [Calvis] gentleman for not repairing part of the highway from Thirsk to Northallerton

From 1 July 1704 the highway has been in disrepair in the constabulary of Thornton le Street opposite the lands of James Harland

Harland is liable for repairs by reason of his tenure of land at Calvis

Endorsed with name of witness and "true bill"
