Description | Order for John Bailey and George Carter, high constables for the division of Ryedale, to levy a fine on the inhabitants of the parish of Lastingham, to be used to repair the road leading from the market town of Kirby Moorside to the market town of Whitby. In the parish of Lastingham, the road begins at a place or hill called Gilbrow Top, and extends to the end of the town street of Hutton le Hole, and is 5,126 yards in length and seven yards in breadth. The road was presented at the Quarter Sessions held on 29 April 1783 |
