Description | A calendar of prisoners confined in the House of Correction at Richmond, for what, when, and by whom committed, and who are to be tried at the adjourned Quarter Sessions to be held at Thirsk on 17 July 1788. Includes:
- a vagrant found wandering in the parish of Easby. Committed on 6 September 1788 [sic] and afterwards found to be an idiot
- Dorothy Barker of Constable Burton, committed on 25 February 1788 for refusing to find sureties for her to keep the peace towards Ann Boyes of Constable Burton
- William Sutton of Hurworth in county Durham, committed on 4 March 1788 for want of sureties to the township of Newsham for a bastard child
- George Metcalfe, committed on 9 May 1788 for want of sureties to the township of Firby for a bastard child
- Augustin Metcalfe of Hawes, committed on 12 May 1788 on suspicion of stealing two pair of iron traces from Thomas Cockbane of Hawes
- Grace Crabtree of Aldbrough, committed on 7 June 1788 and charged on the oath of Robert Hutchinson overseer of the poor of Aldbrough for having a bastard child and living a lewd life. To be imprisoned for one whole year
- John Harrison of Richmond, committed on 28 June 1788, charged on the oath of William Metcalfe for stealing pealed oaks, the property of Sir Thomas Dundas baronet, from the woods at Aske Hall. To be imprisoned for one month, and whipped
