DescriptionSettlement examination of Luke Flynn a rogue and vagabond. He was born at Wicklow in Ireland and bound apprentice to Captain Hopkin Harris of Dublin to serve as a seaman for seven years. He served about five years of his apprenticeship, and in 1745 he was impressed on board the "Royal Sovereign" ship-of-war at the Nore. Afterwards he served on the "Raven" a sloop-of-war, and has since served on different ships-of-war and in the Merchant Service. He came from Plymouth with his wife Ann about three months ago, and they were travelling to Whitby when they asked for relief at Pickering
