DescriptionBill of expenses of John Pexton constable of East Ayton for apprehending four vagrants at East Ayton, and conveying them to the House of Correction at Northallerton in August 1794 and September 1794

Annotated that two of the horses used to convey the vagrants were drowned in a brook near Helmsley by a sudden flood. An application will be made at the Sessions for an allowance to be made for them, and for the injury done to the driver and cart, and therefore there is no charge for them in this bill of expenses
