Description | Bill of indictment of Edward Taylor late of the parish of Masham yeoman for pretending to be unmarried, and so a proper person to serve in the militia as a substitute for John Croft an inhabitant of East Witton, who had been balloted to serve. Taylor thus obtained £5 from the inhabitants of the township of East Witton, when he was in fact married with two children
