Description | Covering letter from Christopher Ling at Scarborough president of the Union Society to Mr Ewbank attorney at law at Malton for resolutions made at a meeting of the Society on 12 December 1797, and which are intended to be offered for confirmation at the next Sessions. The resolutions include visits to be made by officers of the Society to any sick or lame member over 70 years old, with their state of health to be reported back to the next monthly meeting of the Society, when the Committee will make whatever allowance they think proper. When other members are sick, their allowance will be reduced from 7s to 6s per week; and widows of members will receive a proportionate part of £10 rather than of the previous £20, depending on how long their husbands had been members of the Society |
