DescriptionBill of indictment of the inhabitants of the township of Dalton for not repairing part of the highway from Northallerton to Darlington in county Durham

From 22 December 1795 the highway has been in disrepair in the township of Dalton from the termination of the township of Eryholme northward to the south side of the township of Long Cowton, being 100 yards in length and 7 yards in breadth; and also from the north corner of a piece of ground adjoining the west side of the highway called the Plantation occupied by William Smith northward to an oak tree in the fence of a close occupied by George Crooks adjoining the east side of the highway, being 2,706 yards in length and 7 yards in breadth
