DescriptionJohn Flintoff of Railey Fell in county Durham, the Commissioner appointed for dividing and enclosing Thirsk West Moor and Carlton and Sandhutton Commons in the parish of Thirsk, and part of Bagby High Moor in the townships of Thirsk, Bagby and Balk, has appointed William Rymer of Thirsk gentleman as surveyor of public roads over Thirsk West Moor and part of Thirsk East Moor and part of Bagby High Moor

Rymer now certifies that a public highway on Thirsk East Moor called the Sutton Road in the township of Thirsk is to be made and put into good repair. The road begins at the north-west corner of allotment number 33 awarded to the trustees of Lady Lumley's Charity Estate and then extends along the north side of that allotment until it adjoins the Bagby Road. It then extends easterly along the north-east side of allotment number 34 awarded to Francis Almond until it joins the Felixkirk Road, and then extends south-easterly over Thirsk East Moor until it adjoins the road on Sutton Low Moor and a road on Thirsk East Moor called the Felixkirk Road, beginning at the west corner of allotment number 32 awarded to Ralph Bell esquire, then extending easterly over Thirsk East Moor until it adjoins the road to Felixkirk on Felixkirk Moor

A public highway on Thirsk West Moor called the Newsham Road, branching from the north-east corner of allotment number 33 awarded to Thomas Mawman, and extending south-easterly to the south west corner of allotment number 21 awarded to Ralph Bell esquire until it adjoins the road that is to be made leading to Thirsk, is also to be made and put into good repair
