Lister at Throxenby to the Revd William Comber at Kirby Moorside asking for an exemption from jury service for his neighbour Robert Smithson of Cloughton, who has been unable to bend his arm since he broke it in a fall from his horse two years ago. He cannot put on his coat or waistcoat without assistance, and so travelling to the Sessions would be very troublesome to him. He is 65 years old and can only cut up his victuals with difficulty

He has received a circular from Mr Lockwood concerning the expenses of clerks on the Land Tax Redemption Bill
