Description | Bill of indictment of Henry Barker late of the township of Harome in the parish of Helmsley butcher for giving Thomas Bentley the younger a false county bank note, claiming that it was a valid promissory bank note of the value of £5 payable at Mason's Bank near the town of Stockton upon Tees in county Durham. Barker owed Bentley £4 4s, and offered him the note for £3, the remaining £2 to be in part payment of his debt
