DescriptionBill of indictment of William Hodgson of the township of Carlton Miniott yeoman for not repairing part of the highway from Topcliffe to Thirsk

From 25 April 1800 the highway has been in disrepair in the township of Carlton Miniott from a close called Well Close occupied by John Wright northward to a close called Middle Field occupied by William Chappilaw, being 120 yards in length and 7 yards in breadth: also from a cow house in Middle Field towards a gate on the north side of the road leading to the town of Carlton Miniott, being 280 yards in length and 7 yards in breadth

Hodgson is liable for repairs by reason of his occupation of land adjoining both sides of the highway
