| Description | Draft resolution from the Easter Sessions 1802 appointing the Revd W.D., T.C.R. Read and J. Ellis to meet other Justices appointed by the East and West Ridings at the Castle of York on 20 May to consider a presentment made by the Grand Jury at the last Assizes relating to the "insufficiency for the accommodation of prisoners". They have powers to consent to make additions and alterations as reasonable, but no addition should be made to the Castle and Gaol merely for the reception and confinement of prisoners convicted at Quarter Sessions, other than for those sentenced to transportation |
