Description | Letter from William Dealtry and Thomas C.R. Read at Sand Hutton to the Chairman of Quarter Sessions at Northallerton. They have been appointed as superintendent and inspecting magistrates of bridges in the wapentake of Bulmer that are liable to be repaired by the North Riding, and are concerned about the state of Crambe Beck Bridge, which they have found to be in a very dilapidated state, requiring considerable repairs, and the immediate attention of the Surveyor. Once surveyed, they would like to make observations on it, and if it needs immediate work, they would like to have the power to order it to be done
An indictment is intended to be preferred against the Riding for not repairing Tang Hall Bridge. At present it is not a county bridge, and originally it was only a horse and foot bridge. It was made a carriage bridge by the subscription of private individuals for their own convenience |
