TitleLetter to Thomas Shepherd deputy governor of the gaol at Northallerton
DescriptionLetter from Richard Trenam sheriff's officer at Nawton near Helmsley to Mr Shepherd deputy governor at the gaol at Northallerton. Trenam asks Shepherd to engage his brother or some other respectable person to do his duty as bailiff. He is unable to attend as he has other business in hand. He has just returned from Burlington and has to set off for Whitby with warrants from the Court of Exchequer that he has to execute on or before Wednesday next. Trenam would have sent his son, but the son has had an eruption of a blood vessel on his lungs and has not been able to get out of the house for the last ten weeks
