Description | Bill of indictment of John Lodge labourer, John Jolly labourer, Robert Pallister labourer, John Fenney labourer, and Mark Stainsby labourer, all late of the township of Low Worsall, for conspiring to procure a marriage between Anthony Mudd, a poor single man unable to maintain himself but with a settlement in Hilton, and Agatha Brunton, who had a settlement and was chargeable to the township of Low Worsall
Mudd was at that time in the custody of the constable of Low Worsall. Lodge et al promised to obtain his release and to advance him money for a marriage licence, and also promised money to maintain Agatha Brunton's bastard child, of which Mudd was the putative father. Mudd and Brunton married on 1 December 1821 at the township of Low Worsall
