TitleLetter from C. Readshaw at Richmond relating to property valuations
DescriptionLetter from C. Readshaw at Richmond (for James R. Morley) to the Revd J. Headlam chairman of Quarter Sessions. They attended a Petty Sessions in Richmond on 22 March to receive the returns of the total annual amounts of the annual values of estates and rateable property from constables, churchwardens and overseers. The returns were so apparently incorrect that they adjourned the Petty Sessions so that the returns could be amended. Although they were returned on oath on 5 April they do not appear to be a fair and full annual value. They ask that a general valuation might be made by a disinterested professional surveyor
