Description | Bill of indictment of Margaret Peckett wife of Richard Peckett late of the parish of Low Kilburn labourer for obtaining by deception five yards of ribbon value 1s, one silk handkerchief value 1s, one crepe handkerchief value 1s, four yards of lace value 1s, and half a yard of sprig net value 1s, the property of John Fisher. Peckett falsely pretended to John Fisher of Thirsk grocer and draper that her name was Pollit and that she was the sister of a servant of Christopher Ellerby of Kilburn Parks in the parish of Kilburn farmer. Her sister was going to be married at Martinmas next, and Peckett had been sent to collect the goods. Offence committed at the parish of Thirsk on 10 November 1829
