On 26 January 1830 at the township of Exelby, Leeming and Newton, Ann Robson claimed on oath that she had been assaulted on 19 January by being pushed against a bridge at the township of Bedale by Esther Dunn
Dunn had been apprehended but had refused to find sureties for her appearance at the next Quarter Sessions or to keep the peace in the meantime, and was ordered to be taken to the House of Correction at Northallerton by Richard Metcalfe constable of the township of Exelby, Leeming and Newton
