TitlePapers relating to an appeal against the removal of Jane Middleton
DescriptionPaper to move at the Quarter Sessions to be held on 31 December 1832 for the order for the removal of Jane Middleton wife of Alexander Middleton to be reversed. Notice of appeal was given by the agent for the churchwardens and overseers of the parish of St Margaret, Kings Lynn in Norfolk (appellants). The churchwardens and overseers of the township of Hinderwell (respondents) have replied that the order would be abandoned, as although they had a perfectly good case, they would have been obliged to bring a witness from Greenwich Hospital to support it. They prefer to take the pauper, an old woman, rather than incur that expense

Paper to move at the Christmas Sessions 1832 [sic] to confirm the appeal and quash the order of removal for the wife of Alexander Middleton, a Greenwich Pensioner
