TitlePetition to widen the bridge between Bowes and Gilmonby
DescriptionPetition signed by eleven inhabitants of the township of Gilmonby. The bridge over the river Greta on the road from Bowes through Gilmonby and Sleightholme to the collieries at Tan Hill, and then to Arkengarthdale and Swaledale, is narrow and dangerous because of a sudden turn at the south end. If the bridge could be widened and improved at moderate expense, then the petitioners would assist by carting materials, or in any other way that might be reasonably required
