Heslington is deaf and dumb, and his mother is a widow, carrying on the business of the farm after the death of her husband, who left about £500 to each of his children. Ripley has been a servant in the family for four years, and the family is respectable. Includes evidence to be given by Richard Hoggart overseer of the township of South Otterington, Mary Ann Ripley, and William Allison farmer's servant

- order dated 29 June 1835 for William Heslington to pay maintenance for the bastard son of Mary Ann Ripley, born on 30 May 1835 at South Otterington and chargeable to that township from that time
