Description | Order to the Treasurer of the North Riding to pay the constables of Lockton, Goathland and others for apprehending Thomas Stretton, Thomas Watson and William Dobson, all working on the Whitby and Pickering Railway, for breach of the peace. To assist them, Richard Greenwood, William Spenceley, William Coultas, Bartholomew Lyth, Matthew Scott, Richard Rooks, Michael Swinburn, James Hodgson, John Eddon, John Ruddock, John Beaver, Robert Spenceley, Richard Spaven, Matthew Winn, Gawan Harland, John Allanson, John Beaver, John Wood and others from Lockton and Goathland were sworn in as special constables, and their expenses, with an allowance for their time and trouble and the expenses of providing them with staves, should also be paid
