Corner had previously been convicted of felonies at the Quarter Sessions for county Durham held at the county courts in the suburbs of the city of Durham on 27 April 1829; at the Quarter Sessions held for the town and county of Newcastle upon Tyne at the Guild Hall on 14 January 1830; and at the Quarter Sessions held at the county courts in the suburbs of the city of Durham on 3 January 1831
