On 10 October 1836 Nicholas Page, acting as bailiff for Elizabeth Hind, James Hutchinson and William Lister, the executrix and executors of the will of John Hind deceased, had distrained one table, one desk, three casks and ten gallons of ale value 40s, from a house in Grinton, for £72 arrears of rent owed by James Cooper
