With certificate of conviction of Robert Atkinson late of the House of Correction at Northallerton labourer for stealing three pairs of lambs' wool stockings and three pairs of other stockings, the property of Robert Palmer, at the township of Stokesley. Atkinson was convicted at the Quarter Sessions held at Northallerton on 6 April 1840, and sentenced to hard labour in the House of Correction at Northallerton for six calendar months. Certificate dated 31 December 1844
