- order dated 20 January 1845 for the removal of William Richardson, his wife Hannah, and his three children Lydia aged 7 years, Ann aged 6 years, and Noah aged 3 years, from the township of Kirby Moorside to the township of Sheriff Hutton; with note that the order is suspended as Hannah Richardson is unable to travel because of sickness. Includes:
i) copy examination dated 20 January 1845 of William Richardson of Kirby Moorside labourer. At about the harvest of 1826 he went to live with William Cattle of Sheriff Hutton. At first he was hired by week until about Martinmas in that year, and then hired himself for a year to William Cattle at a wage of £10. He served and lived with Cattle for the whole of that year, and was then hired again by him at the same wages; and then again at the same wages for each of the three succeeding years. While he served William Cattle, he lived in Cattle's house and was unmarried and without children. He married Hannah at the parish church of Kirby Moorside about ten years ago and they have the three children named above. He now lives at Kirby Moorside with them, and as he was unable to maintain himself and his family, he applied to the Board of Guardians of Helmsley Union for relief, and was relieved by the relieving officer of the Union. He has done nothing since he left William Cattle to get a settlement elsewhere. His wife is now very ill and is not able to travel without danger ii) copy certificate dated 11 January 1845 from the Board of Guardians of Helmsley Union that on 9 January 1845 Richardson, his wife and family became chargeable to the parish of Kirby Moorside
- notice dated 21 January 1845 that the above order was suspended because Hannah Richardson was sick
- motion paper for the Easter Sessions 1845 for a respite of the appeal against the order of removal of William Richardson and his wife and family
- notice dated 13 June 1845 given by the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the township of Sheriff Hutton with Cornbrough and three of the rated inhabitants of Sheriff Hutton, to the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of Kirby Moorside of their intention to appeal against the removal of William Richardson, his wife and family on the grounds that the evidence in support of the appeal is not set forth with sufficient certainty and precision
