DescriptionPapers relating to a new highway to be constructed between Ormesby and Kirkleatham, including:

- certificate dated 3 September 1845 of two Justices that they have viewed part of the highway leading from Ormesby to Kirkleatham which is to be diverted. The highway begins at the part of the highway adjoining a close in the township of Wilton in Cleveland called the Cowkeeper's Field belonging to Sir John Henry Lowther of Wilton Castle in Cleveland baronet, and ends at a gate on the highway into another close belonging to Sir John Henry Lowther and occupied by Jackson Carrick called Stone Brigg Field. They have also viewed the new highway to be substituted for the diverted highway and have found it to be an improvement, and that the old highway is no longer needed

a) consent dated 2 July 1845 of Sir John Henry Lowther to the making of the new highway through his land
b) notice dated 14 July 1845 given by Ralph Easby surveyor of the township of Wilton that an application will be made at Quarter Sessions for an order diverting part of the highway in the township of Wilton in Cleveland
c) undated plan of the old road and the proposed new road
d) examination dated 3 September 1845 of Thomas Tudor Trevor of Guisborough gentleman relating to the notice given by Ralph Easby

- examination dated 3 September 1845 of Abraham Abbott of the township of Wilton yeoman relating to affixing the notice given by Ralph Easby at each end of the highway

- file of papers, including:
a) consent dated 2 July 1845 of Sir John Henry Lowther to the making of the new highway through his land
b) notice dated 14 July 1845 given by Ralph Easby surveyor of the township of Wilton that an application will be made at Quarter Sessions for an order diverting part of the highway in the township of Wilton in Cleveland
c) undated plan of the old road and the proposed new road
d) instructions for Mr Bliss to move at the Quarter Sessions on 14 October 1845 for an order to be made for the diversion of the highway and the stopping-up of the old road; with copies of related papers
