DescriptionBill of indictment of Rachel Frank late of the parish of Thornton singlewoman for falsely pretending to Robert Garbutt of the parish of Thornton linen draper and grocer that she had been sent by Henry Newby to see if Garbutt would let him have "a shilling or two", so obtaining one silver coin called a shilling value 1s, the property of Robert Garbutt; and also for similarly pretending that she had been sent for three or four shillings as Mr Newby "was quite run out of change", so obtaining three other silver coins called shillings value 1s each; and for falsely pretending to Jane Garbutt the sister of Robert Garbutt and acting as his assistant and shop woman that she (Frank) had been sent by Henry Newby for a bottle of hair oil, which Newby would pay for when he repaid the borrowed money, so obtaining a bottle of hair oil value 6d, the property of Robert Garbutt
