Winter had previously been convicted of felony at the Quarter Sessions for county Durham held at Durham on 16 October 1843

Hinde (as John Hinde the younger late of the House of Correction at Northallerton labourer) had previously been convicted at the Quarter Sessions held at Northallerton on 8 April 1845

Endorsed with names of witnesses and "true bill"



With certificate dated 18 June 1846 of the conviction of John Winter late of the parish of Stanhope in county Durham labourer for stealing (with one Robert Smith) 16 pigs of lead value 20s, 16 pieces of lead value 20s, 16 pieces of lead ore value 20s, 16 pieces of molten lead value 20s, and 3000 pounds weight of lead value 20s, the property of the Governor and Company for Smelting Down Lead with Pit Coal and Sea Coal. Offence committed at the parish of Stanhope on 9 September 1843. Winter was convicted at the Quarter Sessions for county Durham held at Durham on 16 October 1843 and was sentenced to six calendar months hard labour at the House of Correction at Durham



With certificate dated 29 June 1846 of the conviction of John Hinde the younger late of the House of Correction at Northallerton labourer for stealing one tame domesticated goose, one tame domesticated gander, and two tame domesticated turkeys, the property of Ann Kettlewell, at the township of Sandhutton. Hinde was convicted at the Quarter Sessions held at Northallerton on 8 April 1845 and was sentenced to two calendar months hard labour at the House of Correction at Northallerton
