DescriptionAnnual return of insane persons, lunatics and idiots chargeable to parishes in the Malton Union situated in the North Riding. Includes:

- James Parnaby aged 43 years, chargeable to Huttons Ambo and sent to the North and East Ridings Pauper Lunatic Asylum on 2 June 1847. His weekly cost of maintenance is 11s 1d; he is a lunatic, dangerous to himself or others, of clean habits, and has been of unsound mind for 15 years

- Mary Nalton aged 55 years, chargeable to Old Malton and sent to the North and East Ridings Pauper Lunatic Asylum on 2 June 1847. Her weekly cost of maintenance is 11s 1d; she is a lunatic, dangerous to herself or others, of clean habits, and has been of unsound mind for 13 years

- Elizabeth Marshall aged 68 years, chargeable to Broughton and sent to the North and East Ridings Pauper Lunatic Asylum on 2 August 1847. Her weekly cost of maintenance is 11s 1d; she is a lunatic, not dangerous to herself or others, of clean habits, and has been of unsound mind for nine years

- Rachel Stead aged 70 years, chargeable to Bulmer and living with her niece at Bulmer. Her weekly cost of maintenance is 3s 3d; she is an idiot, not dangerous to herself or others, of clean habits, and has been of unsound mind for 56 years
