With certificate of conviction at the Quarter Sessions held at Northallerton on 15 October 1844 of John Waterson late of the House of Correction at Northallerton labourer, by the name of John Watterson, for stealing one silver coin called a crown piece, the property of Robert Nicholson, at the township of Cloughton. Waterson was sentenced to hard labour at the House of Correction at Northallerton for one calendar month. Certificate dated 30 June 1851
