TitleLetter requesting to be excused jury service
DescriptionLetter from John Hunt of the North Eastern Railway at Richmond Station to Trevor esquire, deputy Clerk of the Peace at Guisborough. He has received notice to attend the Northallerton Sessions as a Grand Jury man on Wednesday next. He asks to be excused on the grounds of non-qualification. He has no freehold property, nor does he pay any taxes. His residence , which is on an annual rental of £20, is in the parish of St Martin's, which is extra-parochial. It would be inconvenient for him to have to attend to ask to be excused, so he asks Mr Trevor to send him a line stating if he is obliged to do so
