With certificate of conviction at the Quarter Sessions for the West Riding held at Wakefield on 4 March 1861 of John Shepherd late of Wakefield in the West Riding labourer for obtaining by false pretences from William Calvert one mare, the property of the said William Calvert, at the parish of Knaresborough on 16 January 1861. Shepherd was sentenced to hard labour at the House of Correction at Wakefield for 12 calendar months. Certificate dated 1 March 1864 |
