DescriptionBill of indictment of Ann Thompson for obtaining two pounds weight of currants, two pounds weight of raisins, four pounds weight of soap, four pounds weight of oatmeal, one pound weight of tea, half a pound weight of candied lemon, five and a half pounds weight of cheese, four pounds weight of sugar and half a pound weight of coffee by falsely pretending to Samuel Walker an apprentice with Bartholomew Smith a grocer and draper in the town of Thirsk that she had been sent for some groceries by Susan Gregory wife of John Gregory trainer living at Cold Kirby on Hambleton Moor, who was known to Walker in his position as apprentice

Offence committed at the township of Thirsk on 18 December 1865
