DescriptionLetter from Thomas Carline at St Paul’s Square in York reporting that he had been very ill in the last three weeks, mainly because of his exposure to the weather when travelling about the Riding. Because Mr Hornby his medical man would not hear of him attempting to attend the Sessions, Carline has asked his son John Carline, a civil engineer at present making a railway at Edinburgh, to come and assist him in his duties
