With certificate of conviction at the Quarter Sessions held at Northallerton on 30 June 1857 of Mary Dowd otherwise Mary Jackson late of the House of Correction at Northallerton for stealing £2 18s in money, one cotton purse, and one iron ring, the property of Thomas Carter and taken from his person. Dowd/Jackson, who had a previous conviction for felony, was sentenced to penal servitude for seven years. Certificate dated 5 April 1867
