DescriptionPapers relating to the diversion of a public footpath at Great Ayton. The footpath to be stopped-up leads from Nunthorpe to Great Ayton from a point where the footpath leaves a field belonging to the representatives of the late Thomas Graham deceased occupied by Thomas Elders to a point in a plot of ground recently conveyed by George Marwood esquire to the Ecclesiastical Commissioners as the site for a church. A new footpath is to be made from the point where the old footpath left the field belonging to the representatives of the late Thomas Graham deceased and running in a straight line easterly through a field belonging to George Marwood and occupied by several people as allotment ground, to a point where that field joins the Stokesley and Guisborough highway. Includes:

- brief dated 8 June 1867 in support of the application for an order to stop-up the old footpath

- certificate dated 8 June 1867 from two Justices that they have viewed the new footpath and found it completed and in good repair

- draft order from the Midsummer Sessions 1867 stopping-up the footpath in the parish of Great Ayton. Annotated "Engrossed 5 July 1867"
