TitleLetter from the Auditor relating to the accounts of the North Riding
DescriptionLetter from Thomas Johnson at the Darlington District Banking Company at Northallerton reporting that he has audited the accounts of the North Riding and suggesting that the vouchers should remain with the auditor until stamped by him, so that they cannot be presented at a future audit. The bank account should be kept so that the pass book corresponds with the balance shown in the audited accounts. This could be done by having a separate account for sums that ought not to appear in the Treasurer's account until the following quarter. It would be helpful if a separate account was kept at the bank for the Police accounts
