Description | Memorial from Henry Hawking and Robert Walker both of Ellenthorpe farmers to the Justices in Quarter Sessions. At the Quarter Sessions held on 15 October 1867 a final order was made for dividing the Riding into 16 highway districts; and at a Sessions held on 7 April 1868 a provisional order was made with certain alterations to the final order, and this , with one variation relating to the township of Barforth, was confirmed at the Sessions held on 30 June 1868. Under this order Myton on Swale and Ellenthorpe were combined to make a highway parish. The memorial gives reasons why the two parishes should be separated, and asks for a waywarden to be elected for the township of Ellenthorpe as a member of the Highway Board of Bulmer West Highway District
Notice given to the Clerk of the Peace by five Justices that a proposal will be made at the next Sessions for an alteration to be made in Bulmer West Highway District by separating the townships of Myton on Swale and Ellenthorpe
