TitleLetter explaining the absence from Court of Robert Deacon
DescriptionLetter from Joseph Deacon at Reeth to Mr Trevor. Thomas Dixon of Reeth has brought him a letter which had been addressed to Robert Dixon of Reeth, but was probably intended for Robert Deacon of Reeth, Joseph's son. Robert Deacon lodged with his father for a time but he left Reeth and Yorkshire about three months ago. The jury summons was left at Joseph Deacon's house and he intended to forward it to his son, but as he didn't know where he was living, he instead sent it back with Henry Deacon who was on the jury at Northallerton. Under the circumstances, no blame should attach to Robert Deacon for not attending the Court. Robert Deacon has no fixed residence as he follows horse racing as a profession
