With certificate of conviction before two Justices of the Peace at Carlisle on 25 January 1869 of James Cail and Thomas Blacklock for stealing 21 postage stamps value 1s 9d, the property of Joseph McEwen, in the parish of St Mary in Carlisle on 16 January 1869. Cail and Blacklock were sentenced to hard labour at the common gaol at Carlisle for three calendar months. Certificate dated 1 April 1870 |
