DescriptionBill of indictment of William Coartley and John Pomfret on four counts relating to obtaining 1s 11d by falsely pretending to Henry Marrs a weighman at Bolckow Vaughan and Company Limited at an ironstone mine at Eston, to James Dunn the overman of the Company, and to Thomas Williams cashier of the Company at the mine, that a waggon load of ironstone with which a waggon had been filled by Thomas Watson and John Rogers miners had been loaded by Coartley and Pomfret. The second count details that Coartley and Pomfret pretended that on the night of 21 February and the morning of 22 February 1872 they had filled seven waggons with ironstone
