With certificate of conviction at the Quarter Sessions held at Northallerton on 2 January 1872 of Rebecca Davis late of the House of Correction at Northallerton for obtaining by false pretences one black cloth jacket, eight yards of black silk, six and three-quarter yards of Scotch plaid, eleven and a half yards of brown poplin, seven yards of black silk fringe and one dozen black glass buttons from John Braithwaite and Marmaduke Braithwaite with intent to defraud. Davis was sentenced to hard labour at the House of Correction at Northallerton for three calendar months. Certificate dated 27 June 1873 |
